Vintage Art Deco Espresso - Demitasse Set Hand Painted in Japan & Made in Czechoslovakia. This Modernist set is signed as made in two different countries, Japan and Czechoslovakia. It is signed M+Z Altrohlau, a Czech maker, and the coffeepot is signed Japan. The condition of this set is near excellent, one handle has a glaze flaw as shown - the coloring is missing but there is rough glaze in its spot leading me to believe this is a glaze flaw. The porcelain cups are light and razor thin. There are some minor glaze and painting flaws here and there as customary for porcelain of its age, this includes the footers.

The coffeepot is signed Japan and measures 8-1/2", the cups measure almost 3" high and are 2-1/2 in diameter. The three saucers are marked M+Z Altrohlau and measure 4-1/2 in diameter.
