1840 Sunderland (England) teacup & saucer. This beautiful 181yr old cup & saucer are beautiful testaments to the artistry and craftsmanship of china producers and potters of yore. Both pieces are a beautiful white bone china hand painted with a leaf motif in a very rare shades of lusterware purple and vibrant green. Both pieces are unmarked, but have been professionally authenticated.

Both pieces are in excellent condition with minimal signs of age and/or usage. There are no cracks, chips, scratches, or crazing.There is minor fading of the hand painted decoration, but that is to be expected in pieces this old (see photos). A small speck of black grit is on the bottom of the cup underneath the glaze. The cup measures approximately 3.8 diameter. The saucer measures approximately 5.5 in diameter.
