Sevres Hand Painted Watteau Scene & Gold Ivy Leaf Footed Tea Cup & Saucer C Antique footed porcelain tea cup and saucer. Decorated with a hand painted Watteau scene with two ladies on the cup.
The saucer has hand painted landscape scenes on either side. Gold ivy leaf band around the top of the cup and border of the saucer. Gold gilding along the edge.
The cup and saucer both have the correct incised marks. The cup is also marked with an S. 63 indicating it is a Sevres blank produced in 1863. The saucer has an underglaze S. 72 indicating it is a Sevres blank produced in 1872.
Probably decorated in Paris or Limoges around 1880 to 1890s. Has some wear to the gilding.
The cup has a tight crack through bottom of the handle and some staining to the interior. The cup measures approximately 4 3/4 inches wide including the handle x 2 3/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 6 1/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
