This is a Thomas Wolfe tea cup and saucer set. It has lovely sprigs of flowers in colors of orange, blue, grey/silver. It is from the early 1800's and trimmed with "silver lustre" (actually made by using platinum salts). Jane Penington in about 1797. Another partner is less-well known; John Luckock who was perhaps the man listed in Chester & Mort's Directoryof 1796/97 as an engraver of Stoke.
The partnership was short-lived and by August 1801 Wolfe was advertising the factory to let. With no ceramic manufacturers showing an interest the premises became a cornmill. During its short life the factory made a range of porcelain including blue printed wares with Chinese-style patterns. This set has condition issues. It shows wear on the lustre around the rim and areas of the cup and saucer. It also shows staining on the inside of the cup. Keep in mind, this set is over 200 years old. Good thing is, it doesn't show any signs of chips or cracks. Please see pictures for condition.
