RARE! Antique Hand Painted Backauer German BPM Tea Cup & Saucer Schloss Schwerin

  

_Antique Hand Painted Backauer German BPM Tea Cup & Saucer Schloss Schwerin. For your consideration is a really interesting powder blue tea cup and saucer made by Buckauer Porzellan Manufaktur (BPM) in Germany. The design is basically what looks to me like a hand painted image of the Schwerin Castle (see pics, I'm not an expert). There is also the initials i/m after the name Schloss Schwerin perhaps the artist?

BPM was known for their tea and coffee sets and also produced hotel ware. I was unable to find another one like it. I'm not sure what this was produced for but in the mid-late 1800's the castle was renovated twice, so my guess is that this cup is to show off the updated castle.

Some light wear to the gold rim of the saucer and a small mark at the bottom of the castle painting otherwise in terrific condition. If you have any additional information on this piece, please let me know!
