Wall Worcester Tea Pot with Handless Cups & Saucers (112). Assembled group of Worcester "Lily" pattern partial tea set. Large teapot with a "married" lid. Crescent mark, circa 1770's. Also included are 4 nice early saucers and two handle-less cups, unmarked, but from the late 18th - early 19th century. The sides of the tea bowls and interior of the saucers are decorated with the classic stylized lily pattern transfer. Solid bands of blue on the top and bottom of the pattern are overlaid with hand-applied gilding, in alternating patterns of flowers and a geometric triangle motif. This is repeated on the inside of each cup's rim. The inside bottom has a stylized floral design, with gilt accents.

The transfer on the teapot is very crisp, where the teacups and saucers are softly blurred. Exceptionally clean finish, and no crazing. The gilding is excellent as well, no wear. The teapot's lid is a marriage from another piece of the same age, and it sits outside the rim, rather than fitting inside. The pot itself is near-mint, with only the smallest rough spot on the spout's lip.

The lid has some wear to the gilt on the finial, and a small chip on the inside rim. No crazing or other condition issues. The cups measure 2" tall and 3.5" across at the rim. The saucers are 5.5" across, and just under 1.25" high at the rim.

The teapot is 6.75" tall to the top of the finial, and 8.75" from spout to handle. All items come from a smoke free home.
