Dresden Style Eugene Clauss Paris Hand Painted Floral & Gold Tea Cup & Saucer B Beautiful porcelain tea cup and saucer. Decorated in the Dresden style with hand painted flowers in pink, purple, blue, orange and yellow. With raised gold gilt scrollwork at the top and bottom. Gold gilding along the rim and gold highlights to the handle. The cup marked on the bottom with an underglaze blue crossed swords mark with an E and a C.

This mark was used by Eugene Marx Clauss (pre Bourdois & Bloch) in Paris between 1868 and 1887. The saucer is marked on the bottom with a pseudo gold Ludwigsburg mark, but is obviously the original matching saucer. I have other pieces to this service listed separately. Has some wear to the gilding.

The saucer has a star shaped / spider hairline on the bottom. Otherwise good condition with no additional chips or cracks.

The cup measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 3/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
