Beautiful British bone china tea cup and saucer. Decorated with enameled turquoise and gold scrollwork and leaves above hand painted flowers in pink, purple, yellow, blue, and red-orange. With turquoise enamel medallions framed in gold scrollwork around the bottom of the cup and well of the saucer. Gold leaf scrollwork along the inside of the lip of the cup. Gold highlights to the handle. Unmarked except for the red pattern number 571. A cup in a different pattern, but the same shape is pictured in the Compendium of British Cups and listed as unidentified. Has some wear to the gilding, wear consistent with age and use, and an in manufacture stacking flake to the foot rim of the saucer, but otherwise good condition. The cup measures approximately 4 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/2 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
