Authentic Sevres Gold Gilt Laurel Leaves Empire Form Tea Cup & Saucer Circa 1822. Very nice antique early 19th century porcelain empire form tea cup and saucer. Decorated with gold gilt laurel leave strips and gold scrollwork.
Has a band of gold dots along the top. Gold gilding along the edge and gold gilding to the handle of the cup. The saucer has a gold gilt medallion in the center.Has an authentic blue printed double L mark with the fleur-de-lis mark with the name Sevres and a 22 date code for the year 1822 inside. This printed mark with the last two figures of the year in the center were used by Sevres during the Bourbon restoration. Also has the proper incised marks.
Has some wear to the gilding, and a very small flake to the foot rim of the cup, but otherwise good condition. The cup measures approximately 4 5/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 3/4 inches tall.The saucer measures approximately 5 7/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
