Antique Satsumi Tea Cup Signed Hand Painted with Moriage artwork 1890-1900

  

The tea cup is ornately decorated with hand painted panels, possibly of scholars, bordered with ornate hand painted details and a stippling technique known as moriage. The inside of the cup's bowl is hand painted with a group of figures which are replicated in the panels around the sides of the cup and duplicated on the saucer.
