Called "white gold" because of its high price, rarity and desirability, Meissen porcelain has been considered the finest by European aristocracy as well as decorative arts connoisseurs for 250 years. In 1739, inspired by blue Chinese porcelain painting, MEISSEN creates its iconic "Onion Pattern", hand painted to this day in the manufactory's own cobalt blue. Today, these rare, intricate pieces from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries are particularly in demand. Diameter: cup: 2 3/8"; saucer: 4 7/8".
