Antique Minton Tea Cup & Saucer, Egg Shell China
This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Minton around 1850. It is unmarked but the type of porcelain and style of decoration are indicative of Minton's work. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The porcelain is so thin you could crush it in your fingers.
It is decorated in Japonesque style. Gilded branches of flowers and foliage spill across the porcelain. There is harmony in the balance of decoration and open. A band of pink inside the rim of the cup matches the pink well of the saucer.
The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. FOR OUR CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE US. The Post Office requires this.
