CONDITION: The bottom of the saucer has a flaw in the glaze that looks like a craze line. The porcelain is very thick and this line is only on the surface like a scratch. It does not show on the top side at all and it rings like a bell.
This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 ½ inches and the cup is 2 ½ inches high without the handle.
The cup features a pedestal base and scrolled, split handle. The set is hand painted with life-like flowers in bright colors.A few butterflies and insects flutter about attracted to the flowers. There are gold medallions on the saucer and inside of the cup, gilded accents on the handle and trim on the rims.
