This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Franziska Hirsch Dresden studio in the 1890s. The saucer measures 6 1/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 4 inches. The rims of the cup and saucer is serpentine style.The cup features a molded pedestal base. The ground color is Pompadour pink. The interior of the cup has a hand painted Watteau scene of lovers in a garden. The wide pink border is encrusted with elaborate raised gilding that is hand applied. The outside of the cup is pink, accented with raised gold flowers and buds.
