Antique Haviland Limoges Tea Cup & Saucer, Forget-Me-Nots

  
This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by Haviland Limoges. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter.

The cup is 2 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 4 1/4 inches. The porcelain is thin and delicate. The shape of the cup and saucer is known as the Ransom blank, with a ribbon shaped handle, scalloped feet and crimped edges on the saucer. The ground color is a soft pastel yellow wash.

Bunches of forget-me-nots spread across the surfaces of both pieces. Their bright blue is a harbinger of spring.
