A fine antique porcelain cup and saucer. In the Pseudo-Tobacco Leaf pattern, mimicking the Chinese Export pattern of the late 18th century. Both cup and saucer have a gilt scalloped rim and are decorated in polychrome underglaze blues and cold painted reds, purples, and greens. Simply a wonderful early English tea cup and saucer! They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
There is a small firing flaw to the cup's rim and some rubbing to the paint in the center of the saucer. There is minor rubbing to the gilding on rims of both the cup and saucer, and to the handle of the cup. There is some very light crazing around the cup's footrim, and a small amount of light staining to the footrim as well. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marked to the base of the saucer with a red'1' or'I.
