CONDITION: Slight trace of gold wear in well of saucer. There is a tiny firing crack where the handle attached to the cup which occurred during manufacture. This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Italy by Ginori in the late 19th C. The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches.
The cup is 2 inches high with a diameter of 3 inches. It is made of fine hard paste porcelain. The cup features a split branch handle. Both pieces are molded in high relief with scenes of figures and animals. Is it hand painted with fine detail and bright coloring. The gods and goddesses are partying. There are wonderful landscapes with mountains and trees. Heavy gilding fills in all the rest.The cup is completely gilded. The Post Office requires this.
