This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Samuel Alcock between. The saucer is 5 3/4 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 5/8 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. The set is made of fine bone china. The porcelain is molded with melon ribs.
It is decorated with intricate gilding and garlands of tiny hand painted flowers. Areas of magenta show through the gilding creating a striking contrast. There is gold trim on the handle and rims. This is an exceptional example of Victorian porcelain.
