19th Century Russian Safronov Hand Painted Floral Cobalt Gold Tea Cup & Saucer F Nice antique 19th century Russian porcelain tea cup and saucer. Decorated with hand painted purple, orange, and yellow flowers with green and gold leaves over a cobalt background. Gold gilding along the edge, to the interior of the cup, and to the molding along the bottom of the cup and around the center/well of the saucer. Hand painted overglaze blue mark on the bottom.
Probably a Safronov blank decorated by Piotr Kozlov. Has some wear to the gilding and the cup has a curved crack extending off the lip. Also has an in manufacture stacking flake to the foot rim of the saucer. No additional chips or cracks.The tea cup measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 5 3/4 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
