100 % genuine and original - was in the family. A delicately hand painted Gardner Russian fine porcelain (bone china) set: 11 cup (6 cups are shown in the picture, total is 11), 12 saucers and coffee/tea pot from circa 1860.

Great example of early Art Nouvaeu style. Stamped on the bottom with the GARDNER FACTORY marks - the Moscow St George and dragon crest, surrounded by a circle, bearing the full name of the factory. The history of porcelain production in Russia began with the foundation of the. In St Petersburg in 1744.

The Imperial Porcelain Factory was the third factory in Europe to produce hard porcelain, after the Königlich-Polnische und Kurfürstlich-Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur in Meissen in 1710 and the Kaiserlich privilegierte Porcellain Fabrique in Vienna in 1718. Excellent condition, no damage of any kind: no crazing, cracks, chips, hairlines, minor edge gold loss on a pot appropriate for the age.
