5 SMALLER DESSERT PLATES, 1 SMALL BERRY BOWL. 2 CUP & SAUCER SETS and 2 2-HANDLED CUP & SAUCER SETS. 1 PLATTER, 1 SUGAR BOWL with LID. This lovely 29-piece group of Royal Cauldron Tea and Breakfast Ware dishes date to between 1905 and 1920. The pieces are in beautiful condition- theyve been in my family and carefully stored for about 75 years.The gold scalloped edges and gold-trimmed pieces have tiny pink roses, green and golden-green leaf rings, and tiny blue leaves near the roses set on a bright white porcelain background. The pieces were manufactured by Cauldon Ltd. Cauldon called their luncheon-sized plates breakfast plates because, in England, these dishes were often used for breakfast service and/or afternoon tea. All of the pieces are in excellent, gently-used condition, with bright colors and no chips, cracks or damage.
A few of the pieces have very minor utensil marks but the vast majority of pieces do not. The single berry bowl has a narrow darker ring circling part of its interior section- see last photo.
The back stamp has the green Cauldon Ltd. England mark plus the red marks of Burley & Co. The K stands for the K series Tea and Breakfast Wares and the pattern is referred to as K8627.The company made other patterns in their tea and breakfast lines. The patterns for these dishes were created between 1897- 1910, but the pieces are stamped Cauldon Ltd. They are also stamped Burley and Co. This Chicago company was founded in 1838.
