This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in the Kutani province of Japan in the 19. It is signed by the artist. The saucer is 5 ½ inches in diameter and the cup is 2 ½ inches high. The cup features a pedestal foot. The porcelain is egg shell thin. The decoration is incredibly intricate.

It is known as Thousand Faces for the myriad of scholars hand painted in the pattern. The medallions in the center and fine borders are superb.
